UPDATE - follow-up to Asian Games 2026 LIVE, Day 7: Suruchi Singh-Kamaljeet enter final; Tanisha-Dhruv ease into Round 2: Day 7 of the Asian Games in Nagoya brought a rush of medals and success for the Indian contingent, highlighted by a gold and a silver in shooting. Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet claimed India's second gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Just before that triumph, the trio of Niraj Kumar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Rudrankksh Patil secured a silver medal in the men's 50m 3P team event. In table tennis, Manush Shah and Diya Chitale moved into the mixed doubles semi-finals, assuring India its first mixed doubles medal in the sport at the Asian Games in eight years, and only the fourth in Indian table tennis history. Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar also assured themselves of a medal in mixed doubles squash. Meanwhile, both the Indian men's and women's kabaddi teams reached the finals after dominant wins, with the men defeating Thailand 66-28 and the women overcoming Nepal, assuring the country of at least two more silver medals. In boxing, Sachin Siwach opened his 60kg campaign in the round of 16 with a 4-1 victory over Jordan's Mohammad Adnan Abu Jajeh to advance to the quarter-finals. However, India faced struggles in canoeing at Miyoshi Lake, failing to win any medals and falling short of their previous Hangzhou edition performance. National canoe coach Shanti Swaroop noted that the scrapping of the men's canoe double 1000m event—where India won bronze previously—proved a major setback.
