Nordic air forces intercept Russian military planes over international waters

Military jets from Sweden and Finland rushed into the sky to track and check Russian planes flying over international waters near the Gulf of Finland. The Finnish Air Force shared details about this operation on Friday, noting the event took place on Thursday. The scramble involved multiple warplanes from both Nordic nations operating together. Official statements confirm that the air patrol successfully located and identified the foreign aircraft. The group of Russian planes included one transport aircraft alongside several fighter jets. Authorities explained that this joint mission was part of an ongoing regional defense agreement between Stockholm and Helsinki. The shared framework allows both nations to work closely together to watch and protect their collective skies.
