Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has called on people who value secularism to join a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on September 29. The demonstration is scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to speak out against ongoing injustices and to protect India's shared culture. In a video shared on the platform X, the Peoples Democratic Party president said that mosques, shrines, and churches are being torn down ruthlessly across the country. She also stated that new voter lists are deliberately removing the names of opposition supporters, secular individuals, and particularly Muslims. The protest has been organized by the Monitoring Committee for Indian Muslims. Ms. Mufti urged citizens to take part in the gathering to help safeguard Indian democracy, national brotherhood, and the country's composite Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb.
