Makers of Scene release new clip featuring Suriya as DSP Inbaraj ahead of Diwali

The makers of the upcoming film Scene have released a new video clip featuring actor Suriya as DSP Inbaraj on Monday. The release comes less than two weeks before the movie hits theaters for Diwali.

Character and Setting

The short clip uses a single walk-and-talk sequence to highlight the character's personality. The scene is set during the Covid lockdown period, showing masks and pandemic restrictions in the background. Inbaraj enters a crime scene surrounded by colleagues while a crowd parts to let him through. He tells his team to call him sir instead of anna. When he sees a large crowd outside, a colleague explains they are from the media and asks if they should be sent away. Inbaraj tells them to let the media stay because the footage will look good in reels and help people think he is massy. The video also shows Suriya in both plain clothes and a police uniform, suggesting the film takes place across two timelines during and after the Covid lockdown.

Cast and Crew

Jithu Madhavan wrote and directed the movie, which marks his Tamil directorial debut following his earlier Malayalam hits Romancham and Aavesham. The film stars Nazriya Nazim as the female lead alongside Naslen, who makes his Tamil debut. Other cast members include Anandaraj, Lal, and Raj Priyan. Suriya and Jyothika produced the project under their new banner Zhagaram Studios along with 2D Entertainment.
