Gold prices in India may climb to two lakh rupees per ten grams by the end of 2027, according to financial experts. The precious metal hit a record high of one lakh eighty thousand seven hundred seventy-nine rupees on the Multi-Commodity Exchange in January this year, but it has stayed under selling pressure since then. Right now, gold trades at about one lakh forty-two thousand five hundred rupees per ten grams in India. On the global COMEX exchange, gold sits near four thousand fifteen dollars per ounce, which is twenty-eight point five percent below its all-time high.
Market Forecasts
A recent report from JPMorgan predicts global gold prices will reach six thousand dollars per ounce by the end of 2026 and six thousand three hundred dollars by the end of 2027. Based on current currency conversion rates, this points to an Indian gold price of two lakh thirteen thousand rupees by the end of 2027. Amit Goel, chief global strategist at Pace 360, points out that falling US bond yields and profit-booking in the US dollar are immediate market triggers. Experts like Avinash Gorakshkar note that upcoming US midterm elections and geopolitical tensions will play a major role in shaping safe-haven demand for bullion.
Expert Advice
Market analysts suggest that the long-term outlook for gold remains positive as a hedge against inflation. SEBI-registered expert Anuj Gupta highlights that US Federal Reserve priorities and global interest rate trends will also affect bullion movement. Several experts advise investors to buy gold ahead of the upcoming Dhanteras and Diwali festivals, expecting prices to return at least to past record levels by late 2027. However, reaching the two lakh rupee mark depends on major international factors like reopening the Strait of Hormuz and resolving global supply issues.
Context
Gold has traditionally served as a safe store of value during times of geopolitical uncertainty and inflation. Global market conditions, currency exchange rates, and central bank policies heavily influence retail prices for the metal in India. Financial analysts regularly track international commodities and bond markets to project how these trends will affect domestic retail buyers.

What Happens Next
Investors will watch US interest rate decisions, midterm election outcomes, and Middle Eastern geopolitical developments to see if gold crosses past record highs in the coming years.
