Actor Esha Deol is returning to the big screen with her upcoming film Pratap. Speaking at the film's trailer launch on Monday, she shared her thoughts on family life and named her father, the late actor Dharmendra, as her idea of a perfect husband in Bollywood.

Family Support

During the event, Esha spoke about how family members should support one another through life's difficulties. When asked about a wife's role in helping her husband during tough times, she stated that family members given by God—such as parents and children—along with chosen partners, must stand by each other through all ups and downs.

Choosing an Ideal Partner

When asked to name Bollywood's ideal husband, Esha explained that she had only seen her father closely in the roles of a father and husband, leading her to name Dharam ji. Dharmendra married his first wife, Prakash Kaur, in 1954, and they had four children together: sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, and daughters Vijeta and Ajeeta. He later married actor Hema Malini in 1980 after meeting her on the film Tum Haseen Main Jawaan, and they had two daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol. Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89 at his Mumbai home, following a period of medical treatment.

About Pratap

Esha's new film Pratap is directed by Sachin Saraf and backed by producer Pradeep Raghwani under UV Films. The movie stars Amit Sadh, Seema Biswas, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Milind Gunaji. The story centers on a decorated encounter specialist who goes to prison for murder and uncovers that his arrest is tied to his past. The film is set to release on November 20.
