The U R Rao Satellite Centre under the Indian Space Research Organisation has opened an application drive for 61 vacancies across Technician and other posts. Interested individuals can submit their forms online through the official website at ursc.gov.in.

Application and Fees

The deadline to complete the online registration process is November 13, 2026. Applicants must fall within the age bracket of 18 to 35 years to be eligible for these positions. There is a non-refundable application fee of 100 rupees set for specific roles including Technician-B, Light Vehicle Driver-A, Staff Car Driver-A, and Heavy Vehicle Driver-A. However, all candidates must initially make a uniform payment of 500 rupees per application. An amount of 400 rupees will be refunded back to only those candidates who actually appear for the written test. Alternative modes of payment such as cash, cheques, drafts, money orders, or postal orders are not accepted.

Selection Process

Simply holding the minimum required educational qualification does not guarantee a call for the written test. The organization conducts an initial screening based on academic records and other details submitted in the online applications. Only screened-in candidates receive a call for the written test. Following this, candidates who clear the written test based on organization standards and available vacancies must appear for a skill test.

Context

Space agencies frequently recruit technical staff and specialized drivers to support satellite development operations and ground transport needs. Public sector technical recruitment drives in India typically employ multi-stage selection models like academic screening, written examinations, and skill tests to manage large applicant volumes.
