Telugu Desam Party MLA Kondru Murali Mohan stated that government development activities led to unanimous victories for several MPTC seats in the Rajam Assembly constituency of Vizianagaram district. He felicitated these unanimously elected MPTCs from Devudala, Komiri, Regidi and other areas at his office located in Shyampuram.
Development and Welfare Spending
The MLA stated that the government spent nearly ₹400 crore on roads, irrigation and other sectors in the constituency over the past two years. He added that welfare schemes benefited local residents with an expenditure of nearly ₹450 crore during the same period. Asserting that the NDA enjoys strong public support, Mr. Murali Mohan expressed confidence that the TDP will secure substantial majorities across all ZPTC and MPTC seats in the area. He credited public faith in the effective governance of the Chandrababu Naidu administration for these outcomes and announced that additional funds from the Union and State governments will support further development work after the local body elections.
Municipality Elections
TDP senior leader Kondru Jagadeesh expressed hope that the NDA will win the Rajam municipality with a thumping majority when elections take place in a couple of months. These upcoming civic body polls follow a gap of 21 years. Mr. Jagadeesh noted that Mr. Murali Mohan took the initiative to resolve legal hurdles concerning the merger of nearby villages and areas into the Rajam municipality.
Context
Local body elections such as MPTC and ZPTC polls form the foundational level of rural self-governance in India. Parties frequently attribute early electoral successes or uncontested victories to grassroots welfare delivery and infrastructure spending by the ruling administration.
