FATHI urges Telangana government to release long‑pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues. The federation says unpaid amounts from earlier academic years, together with new claims for 2026‑27, are choking colleges' cash flow. Salaries for teaching and non‑teaching staff are being delayed, statutory bills remain unpaid and upkeep of classrooms and labs suffers. Graduates report trouble obtaining certificates and academic records because reimbursement sums were sent to their personal bank accounts, which colleges cannot retrieve. The body also flags outstanding scholarships meant for eligible minority students. The pending dues cover both fee reimbursement for graduates and scholarships earmarked for eligible minority students. Institutions argue that once money reaches a graduate’s personal account, they cannot retrieve it, so they propose direct deposits to college accounts after verification. In its representation, FATHI asks the state to credit reimbursement amounts for graduated students directly into the respective colleges’ accounts after verification, to release at least half of the acknowledged arrears, and to clear all pending scholarship dues for minority students.

Context

These delays highlight a broader issue of financial bottlenecks in state‑run higher education, where timely fund transfers are crucial for operational stability and student services.
