KTM's X‑Bow GT‑XR receives a Factory 600 upgrade that lifts its Audi‑sourced 2.5‑litre five‑cylinder engine to 592 horsepower. The power boost of roughly 92 hp comes from a revised intake manifold, a larger turbocharger and an upgraded intercooler. An Evo aerodynamic kit adds a sharper front splitter, canards ahead of the wheels and new louvres in the fender wings to improve airflow. All models now feature a 7.0‑inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the rear‑view system gains traditional folding side mirrors in addition to the camera setup to keep weight low. The upgrade follows the sale of KTM Sportcar GmbH to a Belgian consortium led by rally driver Guillaume de Mévius, whose family are long‑time shareholders in Anheuser‑Busch InBev. The new owners say the purchase gives the X‑Bow line dedicated financial backing separate from KTM’s motorcycle division. In the United States, KTM and its partner Carbon Yard unveiled the GT‑XA, a road‑focused version built in Graz and offered in 30 numbered units for the first year. Reservations cost $50,000, are fully refundable and are being taken under written agreements. The GT‑XA will include an adjustable suspension, a front‑axle lift for garages, tire‑pressure monitoring and bespoke interior trims, with a price expected at $490,000 or less. The model is not yet street‑legal in the US, and deliveries are targeted for 2027 once approval is secured.
Context
The X‑Bow series is a lightweight, track‑oriented car that normally lacks many comfort features; the upgrade adds everyday usability while retaining its performance edge. US entry requires meeting federal safety and emissions rules, which explains the pending street‑legal status.
