Delhi PWD minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma was caught on camera hitting a man who claims to work for an AAP MLA's social media team. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon during a road check in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar when the victim started recording a video on his mobile phone. A video clip of the minister pulling down the phone and hitting the man quickly spread on social media.
Reactions and Explanations
AAP leaders, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal and local MLA Jarnail Singh, strongly condemned the action. Kejriwal demanded the immediate arrest of the Delhi minister, while Jarnail Singh alleged the minister lost his temper after bad road work was exposed. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also criticized Verma, stating the event shows the ruling party no longer fears voters. In response, Verma released video statements defending his actions, claiming that opposition workers used bad language against his family and stating that any blockages to development work will not be tolerated. Police have not registered a formal case yet.
