Canara Bank is hiring for 3,500 apprentice positions across the organization. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications through the official apprenticeship portal at nats.education.gov.in.

Application Dates

The registration process starts on October 1 and closes on October 17, 2026. Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The graduation must be completed between January 1, 2023, and September 1, 2026. The age limit for applicants is set between 20 and 28 years, meaning candidates must have been born between September 2, 1998, and September 1, 2006.

Selection Process

The bank will prepare the merit list state-wise based on the marks or percentage obtained in the 12th standard, Higher Secondary Certificate, or diploma exam. If two candidates secure the same percentage, the older candidate will receive a higher rank. The minimum qualifying marks are fixed at 60 percent, with a relaxed threshold of 55 percent for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities candidates. Selected applicants will also undergo document verification alongside a test of the local language.

Context

Apprentice programs in public sector banks give young graduates practical work experience and industry exposure. These short-term training contracts help bridge the gap between academic education and practical banking operations.
