Amy Poehler Asks Noah Wyle for More Romance on 'The Pitt'

Actor Amy Poehler told Noah Wyle that his hit medical show "The Pitt" needs more romance during an appearance on her "Good Hang" podcast. Wyle appeared on the Tuesday episode shortly after being named People's Sexiest Man Alive.

Poehler told Wyle that despite the impressive work by the show's makeup team, the series lacks romantic moments to balance out the graphic medical scenes. She argued that for every scene showing guts and blood, characters need to share a kiss. Wyle pushed back against a one-to-one ratio, suggesting instead a ratio of one romance scene for every four medical ones, while noting the show does feature rear nudity outside of romantic plots. Poehler famously summarized her stance by telling him that if the show is going to show guts, it has to show butts. Wyle has starred as the disgruntled attending physician Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch for two seasons of HBO's drama. His work on the series earned him a Golden Globe for best performance by a male actor in a television series, drama in 2026, alongside back-to-back Emmy awards for best actor in a drama series in 2025 and 2026.
