Bijendra Pal Singh, the veteran creator of the long-running television show CID, died at the age of 77 following a massive heart attack on Tuesday morning. Actor Shivaji Satam, who played ACP Pradyuman in the popular series, paid tribute to the late producer and director, stating that the most significant part of his life had ended. Satam recalled that Singh had served as a mentor and teacher who helped him transition his theatre acting skills to the screen, guiding him on camera work and performance magnification.

Dayanand Shetty, who portrayed Daya on CID, also shared his grief, noting that Singh had dedicated his entire life to creating television content and possessed great skill as a cameraman. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit shared a tribute on social media, remembering Singh as a brilliant filmmaker behind hit crime and horror shows who previously served as the president of the Indian Film and Television Directors Association. The Screenwriters Association also expressed condolences for the veteran producer, whose last rites were scheduled for October 28.
