Geojit Financial Services has issued a 'Subscribe' rating for the initial public offering of SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd at an upper price band of 330 rupees. Incorporated in 2005, the company manufactures wastewater treatment equipment using its proprietary C-Tech sequencing batch reactor technology. It holds over 80 percent of India's SBR market with 728 installations and has treated 17,511 million litres per day as of July 2026.
Business Segments and Financials
The company operates across four key business segments. Wastewater Treatment led revenue at roughly 67.5 percent in fiscal year 2026, while Solid Waste Treatment accounted for about 17.4 percent. Electrical and automation solutions through Chavare contributed 13.3 percent, and Wastewater Recycling and Reuse formed the remaining 1.8 percent through exclusive distribution of DuPont membranes in India. SFC supplies technology to engineering, procurement and construction contractors rather than executing projects directly, which helps avoid civil and site risk. Materials take up about 50 percent of revenue compared to 80 to 90 percent for EPC players, helping maintain an EBITDA margin of roughly 29 percent against 5 to 10 percent for peers.
Growth and Order Book
Revenue grew from 657.5 crore rupees in fiscal year 2024 to 803.6 crore rupees in fiscal year 2026, with profit after tax reaching 160.2 crore rupees. Return on equity stood at 21.5 percent and return on capital employed at 22.3 percent in fiscal year 2026. Repeat customers made up 91.98 percent of standalone revenue in fiscal year 2026, up from 85.18 percent the previous year. As of August 2026, the order book reached 1,656.6 crore rupees, which is about two times the fiscal year 2026 revenue.
Context
Initial public offerings allow private companies to raise funds from the public by issuing new shares or offering existing ones for sale. Wastewater and solid waste management companies are seeing increased activity due to growing urban infrastructure needs and government environmental targets across India. Brokerage firms routinely review these public offerings to guide retail and institutional investors on valuations and market potential.
