Avengers: Doomsday will hit Indian cinemas on December 17, 2026, a day before its U.S. release.

Release Details

The film is 50 days away from its theatrical debut, and stars Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom) and Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) posted a Diwali video greeting Indian fans. In the clip they said, "Namaste India! What we love about Diwali is it marks the closing of one chapter and beginning of another…" and added a promise to see audiences in the movie.

Cast and Crew

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz. It is the 39th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be shown in Infinity Vision and other premium formats. An extended four‑day opening weekend is planned, similar to the Thursday release of Spider‑Man: Brand New Day. The ensemble includes Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss‑Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Hayley Atwell, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John‑Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Alex Livinalli, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejia.

Competition and Re‑release

Avengers: Endgame: Encore returned to Indian theatres on September 25, 2026, with bonus footage and a special preview of the upcoming film. A day after Avengers: Doomsday’s Indian release, Dune: Part Three will open worldwide on December 18, 2026, setting up a direct box‑office clash.

Context

Marvel often aligns big releases with Indian festivals to boost attendance. Releasing a day before the U.S. market gives Indian fans an early glimpse while capitalising on Diwali celebrations.
