Students taking the December 2026 Term-End Examination at the Indira Gandhi National Open University can now submit their coursework through a new online portal.

Submission Rules

Eligible learners in distance and online tracks must use their university Samarth accounts to upload their work by November 20. The university requires students to handwrite their answers, scan them, and merge all pages for a single course into one PDF file that stays under twenty megabytes. The opening page of this file needs to list the student's personal details, enrolment number, study centre code, course code, regional centre code, regional centre name, and email address. Learners must also make sure their files match the right programme and session before uploading.

Exceptions And Guidelines

Students who already passed a course assignment or handed in physical copies to their study or regional centres for this exam cycle do not need to use the new portal. The university stated that email submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances. Once a file goes through successfully, the system sends an online receipt and an email confirmation, allowing students to track their grading progress online.

Context

Large open universities often shift towards digital portals to handle high volumes of student paperwork and reduce processing delays. This move helps students across remote locations avoid postal delays or physical travel to study centres.
