Team India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh stands just one wicket away from completing 150 wickets in international T20 matches. If he takes that wicket, he will become the first Indian bowler to reach this major milestone. He has a chance to achieve this feat during the fourth T20 match against New Zealand on Friday. Arshdeep started playing international T20s in 2022 and has played 102 matches so far to take 149 wickets. Star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah holds second place on this list with 126 wickets from 100 matches.
New Zealand Milestone
New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner also sits one wicket away from the 150-wicket milestone in international T20s. Santner has played 141 matches and taken 149 wickets so far. If he takes one wicket against India in the fourth T20, he will become the third bowler from New Zealand to reach 150 wickets. New Zealand bowlers Ish Sodhi with 165 wickets and Tim Southee with 164 wickets have already achieved this feat.
Context
Reaching 150 wickets in the shortest format of international cricket highlights a bowler's consistency and longevity at the highest level. Bowlers who play regularly in the powerplays and death overs often accumulate high wicket tallies over large numbers of matches.
