Travel platform Cleartrip aims for a five to ten percent share of its total business from its new holiday packages unit within the next twelve months. The Flipkart-owned company spent nearly twenty years growing its flight and hotel bookings before stepping into this fragmented market. Gaurav Patwari, Chief Business Officer for Air at Cleartrip, shared that the goal is to capture a larger slice of India's growing leisure travel sector.

Customised Trips

The new service mixes flights, stays, local events, and travel into customisable plans for users. Standard domestic trips cost between fifty thousand and one lakh rupees, while foreign trips run from one lakh to three lakh rupees, with luxury options costing much more. The firm uses direct deals with roughly forty thousand local hotels in the three-star to five-star range, alongside outside partners for global stays. Customers can change hotels, events, and flights inside pre-set plans with help from travel experts. The business also builds shorter smart bundle packages for buyers who want flexible and budget-friendly choices.

Growth Drivers

Rising personal incomes and a shift toward experiential spending are pushing this demand upward. Younger travellers are driving much of this momentum, with Gen Z purchases on Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel jumping by sixty-five to sixty-six percent compared to last year. The firm plans to use artificial intelligence for trip planning, content creation, and backend work, while local tour operators handle ground services.

Context

India's travel sector is expanding rapidly as more people move into higher income brackets and spend more money on leisure rather than just basic goods. Companies in the travel industry often expand from simple ticket booking into full holiday planning to increase customer loyalty and capture a larger share of travel budgets.
