Italian motorcycle maker Moto Guzzi has introduced its new motorcycle named The Trip, powered by a 48 horsepower parallel-twin engine. This motor shares its platform with the 457cc engine used in Aprilia models like the RS 457 and Tuono 457, which is built at Aprilia's factory in Baramati, Maharashtra. Export data for the first half of fiscal year 2027 shows that 19 units of the Trip 500 left India, though plans for a domestic launch remain unconfirmed.
Features And Design
The bike includes a ride-by-wire electronic throttle system alongside three riding modes known as Road, Sport, and Rain. The machine features gold-finished upside-down forks, a circular headlamp with a stylized eagle motif, a sculpted fuel tank bearing the Moto Guzzi Eagle emblem, an underbelly exhaust, and a single-piece saddle with an embroidered logo. Buyers can pick from three paint choices named Black Metropolis, Green Grove, and Red Beat, alongside a special edition variant called The Opening.
Specifications And Tech
The motorcycle weighs approximately 180 kilograms and features a seat height of 790 millimeters with a 15-litre metal fuel tank. Braking duties are handled by discs on both ends supported by standard dual-channel ABS, while suspension includes a rear monoshock. Technology highlights comprise a 3.6-inch circular TFT display, connected features, backlit handlebar controls, a quick shifter, and an integrated pictogram navigation system.
Context
Moto Guzzi is known for its traditional longitudinal 90-degree V-twin engines, making this new parallel-twin model a notable shift for the brand. Parts sharing within large automotive groups often allows historic European brands to utilize manufacturing facilities in countries like India for global production. Further information regarding the motorcycle is expected to be showcased at the upcoming EICMA event.
