Hassan Deputy Commissioner has suspended two revenue department officials for conduct unbecoming of government employees during the Hasanamba festival. Uday Nagaraj, a second‑division assistant in the Hassan taluk office, was assigned to the sanctum sanctorum of the Hasanamba Temple to manage the crowd. He is accused of handing his identity card to another person, allowing that person to enter the temple without authorization. Nagaraj has been suspended pending a departmental inquiry. The administration also deputed Bharath T.P., the village administrative officer of Manakattur Circle in Banavara hobli, Arasikere taluk, to the temple. He failed to report for duty and behaved in a manner deemed unfit for a government employee. Bharath T.P. has likewise been suspended pending a departmental inquiry. Both suspensions were announced on October 30, 2026.

Context
