Luxury fashion house Elie Saab is launching a new collection with Swedish retailer H&M to bring red-carpet glamour to the mass market at lower prices.

The Collection

The 55-piece collection includes eveningwear, tailored separates, footwear, jewelry, menswear, and handbags, with prices starting at $39.99. Standout items feature a $429 embellished bandeau dress, a $269 sequined bandeau dress, and a $219 fluffy jacket, alongside more affordable pieces like $89.99 blouses and a $39.99 floral choker. The items incorporate Saab's signature embroidery, sequins, lace, and faux-fur details, offering an accessible entry point compared to couture creations that normally cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Hollywood History

Elie Saab built a massive celebrity following over decades, most famously dressing Halle Berry in a burgundy sheer and floral-embroidered gown for her historic 2002 Academy Awards Best Actress win for "Monster's Ball." Berry later revisited the dress on the runway at Saab's 2024 anniversary celebration in Riyadh. Other notable celebrity wearers include Beyoncé, Zendaya, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lopez. Most recently, Beyoncé wore a Saab gown to a New York premiere in September 2026, and Zendaya wore a black dress by the designer during a New York outing with Tom Holland.

Brand Background

Founded in Beirut in 1982, the label first gained attention for bridal designs before becoming an international member of France's Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and expanding into ready-to-wear. H&M creative advisor and head of design womenswear Ann-Sofie Johansson called the partnership a landmark collaboration. This launch continues H&M's tradition of partnering with high-end luxury designers, following past collaborations with brands like Versace, Balmain, and Maison Margiela. The Elie Saab and H&M collection is now available online and in select stores.

Context

Collaborations between high-end fashion designers and mass-market retail chains have become a popular strategy in the retail industry to make luxury aesthetics accessible to a broader consumer base. Elie Saab joins a long line of elite design houses that have partnered with H&M over the years to reach everyday shoppers.
