Filmmaker Boney Kapoor actually received payment to undergo his much-discussed hair transplant procedure, according to his children Janhvi and Arjun Kapoor. During an appearance on the talk show Koffee With Karan, Janhvi shared that her father did not pay for the cosmetic procedure, but instead was compensated for it. Host Karan Johar and fellow guest Varun Dhawan expressed surprise and amusement at the disclosure, with Dhawan praising the final appearance of the producer's hair. Janhvi further disclosed that additional promotional hoardings featuring her father are planned for release across the city.
Background
The producer first drew public attention in 2024 by visiting a clinic in Hyderabad named Eugenix to get the procedure done, later explaining that he had lost more than 14 kilograms to follow advice from his late wife Sridevi. Boney previously noted that Sridevi had initially urged him to focus on weight loss before fixing his hair, and even took him to a hospital once to check for donor hair. Despite her initial encouragement years ago, he recalled that she later grew apprehensive about the idea out of concern that he might become too attractive afterwards. Following his positive experience, Boney also recommended the hair restoration process to actor Akshaye Khanna, noting that the treatment is not as painful as people fear.
Context
Celebrity endorsements and paid promotional partnerships often extend beyond traditional social media posts into outdoor advertising campaigns and public appearances. Hair restoration procedures have grown increasingly common and advanced in the entertainment industry, with public figures frequently discussing their personal cosmetic journeys openly.
