India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Atlanta on Friday, Oct 30, 2026, saying the two countries are enjoying steady growth in cooperation. He posted, "Delighted to meet FM @AnitaAnandMP of Canada today. Assessed the steady growth of our cooperation." Jaishankar also met the foreign ministers of Argentina, Mexico, Brazil and Germany during the same gathering. He greeted Argentina's Pablo Quirno, adding that they discussed trade, critical minerals, defence and nuclear cooperation along with multilateral issues. With Mexico's Roberto Velasco Alvarez, the focus was on giving a new impetus to bilateral relations. He called his sit‑down with Brazil's Mauro Vieira a conversation that covered both bilateral and global issues. In Germany, he said, "Great to meet FM Johann Wadephul of Germany. Always look forward to my discussions with @AussenMinDE." Jaishankar attended the first plenary session of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Atlanta. ## Context These side‑meeting talks are a routine part of the G20 foreign ministers' summit, where members use the platform to deepen trade ties, discuss security cooperation and address broader multilateral challenges.
