Q2 Results And Market Outlook
Both Reliance Industries and Jio Platforms released their financial results for the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year on Friday, with analysts predicting a gap-up opening on Monday. Reliance Industries posted higher earnings due to a strong recovery in its oil-to-chemicals segment, which saw a year-on-year EBITDA jump of about seventy percent to reach nearly twenty-five thousand two hundred crore rupees. Meanwhile, Jio Platforms recorded growth in consolidated revenue, operating earnings, and net profit.
Subscriber Growth And Financials
Jio Platforms expanded its total subscriber count to five hundred forty-two point four million people. This user base includes three hundred million users on fifth-generation networks and thirty million homes connected to fixed broadband. The average revenue per user climbed to two hundred eighteen point eight rupees. Consolidated revenue for Jio Platforms rose by eleven point three percent to forty-seven thousand four hundred eighty-five crore rupees, while net profit grew by sixteen point six percent to twenty-one thousand eight hundred seventy-nine crore rupees. The company's net debt dropped to eight thousand eight hundred crore rupees, supported by funds from a thirty-thousand-two-hundred-crore-rupee initial public offering.
Expert Recommendations And Share Targets
Market experts note that choosing between the two companies depends on investment style. Avinash Gorakshkar of Avinash Mentor Research states that investors can select either a diversified conglomerate holding or a pure-play digital stock. Mahesh M Ojha of KC Securities recommends Reliance Industries for safer investors since Jio Platforms' growth benefits flow into the parent company's balance sheet. Ojha sees support for Reliance shares at one thousand one hundred forty-five rupees with short-term targets reaching up to one thousand three hundred fifty rupees. Arun Kejriwal of Kejriwal Research and Investment Services advises current Jio shareholders to hold their shares with a stop-loss near the listing price of one thousand four hundred ten rupees, pointing to potential targets of one thousand five hundred and one thousand five hundred fifty rupees.
Context
These quarterly performances highlight how large corporate entities navigate market shifts through diverse business segments and digital expansion. Evaluating large corporate stocks typically involves analyzing both underlying sectoral recoveries, such as petrochemical margins, and high-growth digital customer additions.
