Fatal Crash
Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh's nephew, Vidit Auluck, and his friend Aarav Talwar died in a road accident in Jalandhar, Punjab, on Sunday morning, November 1. The victims and three other friends were returning from a birthday celebration at around 3 am when their Volkswagen car crashed into a stationary Municipal Corporation tractor-trolley. The vehicle was travelling from BMC Chowk towards BSF Chowk on a flyover near the Police Lines area. Sanitation workers had parked the tractor-trolley on the flyover to clean the area and collect garbage. The impact proved fatal for Vidit and Aarav, who died at the spot, while the three other occupants survived and returned home.
Family And Police Response
Baradari police station SHO Sahil Chaudhary confirmed that police reached the spot shortly after being informed about the crash at 3 am. The families decided against pursuing further legal action, and the bodies were handed over for last rites. Vidit was the son of Dinesh Auluck, owner of the Punjabi music label Speed Records, while Aarav was the son of the owner of Pappy Sweets. Actor-singer Gippy Grewal shared that Vidit had turned 18 in March and that his funeral would take place on Tuesday, November 3, at Model Town cremation ground in Jalandhar. Honey Singh shared a social media post writing that the loss of his nephew is devastating.
Context
Road safety on Indian highways and urban flyovers is a major concern, particularly during late-night hours when visibility is low and unexpected obstacles like unlit or stationary civic vehicles pose severe hazards. Such tragic incidents frequently highlight the dangers of unattended municipal equipment left on active roadways without proper warning signs.
