The mystery thriller franchise returns with Drishyam The Conclusion, directed and written by Abhishek Pathak. In this installment, Meera Deshmukh remains suicidal over the fact that Vijay and his family got away with murdering her son Sam. Her husband approaches Crime Branch chief Rajveer Singh Tomar to reopen the case, putting Vijay in deep trouble once again. Unlike the Malayalam original, the new film cuts to the chase almost immediately without spending much time on setup. This urgency sidelines Vijay the family man, leaving Shriya Saran and daughters Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav with virtually no dialogues or meaningful presence in the first half. Inspector Gaitonde brings humour with cheeky references to memes about October 2, pav bhaji, and Swamiji's satsang, while dialogues are written by Aamil Keetan Khan. The two-and-a-half-hour film relies heavily on convenience for its climax rather than slick planning, asking audiences to take many things at face value. Ajay Devgn delivers a solid performance as Vijay alongside Jaideep Ahlawat as Rajveer, Prakash Raj as top lawyer Indrajith Shetty, and Kamlesh Sawant as Inspector Gaitonde. Amar Mohile provides the top-notch background score for the project.

Context

Franchise finales often struggle to balance nostalgic fan service with fresh narrative stakes, as seen here where the focus shifts toward high-tempo drama. Psychological thrillers rely heavily on logical twists, making audience reception tricky when plot resolutions lean on cinematic convenience rather than careful planning.
