Actor Nani's film crosses 100 crore mark despite box office collection drop

Box Office Numbers

The Telugu movie The Paradise has crossed the 107 crore rupee mark in India by its eighth day, crossing the 100 crore milestone for its lead actor Nani for the very first time. The film had a massive start, earning 11.60 crore rupees from Thursday evening premieres and 34.65 crore rupees on Friday, marking the biggest opening day ever for a Nani release. However, collections dropped sharply in the following days, falling to 14.90 crore rupees on Saturday, recovering slightly to 15.25 crore rupees on Sunday, and remaining steady at 15.70 crore rupees on Monday. Earnings fell steeply through the week, reaching a low of 3.4 crore rupees on Wednesday and dipping further to 2.71 crore rupees by Thursday. While previous Nani films like HIT The third case and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram came close to the century mark, none of them reached it. Released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the film earned most of its money from the Telugu version.

Cast And Crew

The movie is directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Ishan Saksena under the banners of Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas and IVY Entertainment. It features a lead cast including Nani, Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, and Raghav Juyal. The plot follows a tribe named the Savaari as they fight for citizenship during the 1980s. Following mixed reviews and the box office dip, lead actor Nani posted a note on social media. He stated that he enjoyed both the love and the funny trolls from the public, and mentioned that the team made the project with a lot of hard work to give fans a new experience.

Context

Box office collections for major film releases frequently experience a sharp decline after the initial opening weekend as ticket sales settle down. Films with high opening numbers often rely heavily on positive word-of-mouth to maintain momentum through their first weekday runs and subsequent weeks.
