Surya thanks Dhanush for delaying ‘Om’ to clear Diwali slot for ‘Seen’

Surya publicly thanked Dhanush for postponing the actor’s own Diwali release “Om” to make way for Surya’s film “Seen”.

What Happened

The trailer and two songs of “Seen” were unveiled yesterday at 7.30 pm during a launch event. The film is directed by Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan and produced by Surya’s new banner Zharam Studios. Nasriya stars as the heroine and Naslen plays the villain. Music is composed by Sushin Shyam. Earlier released climax scenes and the two songs received a warm audience response.

Reaction

Speaking at the trailer event, Surya said, “We must thank actor Dhanush. In his tweet he said our film will release on Diwali, so we will postpone ‘Om’. Thanks to him.” The clip of his speech is rapidly going viral on social platforms.

Release Details

“Seen” is set for a Diwali theatrical release on 6 November. Dhanush’s “Om” was originally slated for the same date but Dhanush announced he would shift it to accommodate the releases of Surya’s and Rajinikanth’s films.

Context

In Tamil cinema, it is common for big‑star films to avoid clashing release dates. Actors often use social media to announce schedule changes that help each other’s projects get maximum screen space during festive periods.
