UPDATE - follow-up to Pink Line likely to be inaugurated on November 13: Member of Parliament L.S. Tejasvi Surya posted on X that the elevated Pink Line may open on 13 November, using the hashtag #PinkLine. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation officials said they have not yet received any formal notice from the Prime Minister's Office confirming the date. The state’s chief minister, D.K. Shivakumar, had earlier said the opening was expected in mid‑November, while the central government’s schedule for its representative remains pending. The elevated segment stretches 7.5 km and includes six stations: Kalena Agrahara, Hulimavu, IIM‑B, JP Nagar 4th Phase, Jayadeva Hospital and Tavarekere. This portion is ready for inauguration and forms part of the 21.3 km Pink Line project. When the line becomes operational, the total Namma Metro network will grow from 96.10 km to 103.60 km. The remaining 13.8 km will run underground, linking Dairy Circle to Tannery Road via M.G. Road and Shivajinagar. Full operation will connect the city’s southern suburbs with its central business districts, easing travel for many office workers. ## Context The Pink Line is the newest addition to Bangalore’s metro system, aiming to improve north‑south connectivity and reduce road traffic congestion.
