Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has served notices to seven ready‑mix concrete plants it says are operating without valid licences, ordering operators to submit proper documents and clarify their change‑of‑land‑use status within two days or face demolition, officials said. The notices were issued on Monday. Joint Commissioner Dr Preetpal Singh told the plants that any unsatisfactory explanation after the deadline will trigger demolition action. The seven plants were uncovered in a fresh survey and are located in the villages of Daulatabad (two units), Gadoli Kalan (two), Kherki Majra (two) and Dhanwapur (one). These new cases add to an earlier list of 31 RMC plants flagged by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board. The earlier list was compiled by the board, which first highlighted the illegal units. Of those, the civic body has already torn down eleven, 17 owners voluntarily removed their units after administrative pressure, three were found to have valid change‑of‑land‑use permission and one remains pending. The MCG’s crackdown follows ongoing concerns about illegal construction and pollution in the fast‑growing city.

Context

Gurugram’s rapid expansion has led to many unapproved industrial sites. Municipal authorities often use licence checks and land‑use surveys to enforce regulations and curb environmental damage.
