Billionaire Investor Warren Buffett Has Not Drunk Water in 48 Years, Prefers Cherry Coke

Daily Habits

World-renowned investor Warren Buffett has reportedly not drunk plain water in 48 years, choosing instead to stay hydrated with cherry cola. Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman revealed this detail on the Equity Mates Investing podcast, recalling that Buffett politely declined water during a meal and stated he had not touched it for nearly five decades. Ackman later ensured his home was stocked with cherry Coke when Buffett visited.

Diet and Routine

British author Glen Arnold notes in his book, The Deals of Warren Buffett Volume 2: The Making of a Billionaire, that the investor consumes about five cans of Coca-Cola daily. Buffett previously drank Pepsi before switching to Coke at a neighbor's suggestion. He once remarked that a quarter of his body is Coca-Cola and that a fourth of his daily 2,700-calorie intake comes from the beverage, drinking at least 12-ounce portions. His son Howard used to call him Pepsi Warren, and Buffett noted at the 1986 Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting that he shifted to Coke after years of drinking Pepsi, calling it the official meeting drink of the company. Additionally, according to TV9 Telugu, Buffett maintains a daily routine of tap dancing on his way to the office, a habit he has kept up for decades, alongside eating fast-food favorites like burgers and getting roughly eight hours of sleep a night.

Context

Dietary habits of public figures often attract widespread public curiosity, though medical professionals universally recommend drinking plain water for proper hydration and general health. While specific personal routines vary widely among billionaires, nutrition experts emphasize that high sugar consumption and processed foods are not advisable for the general public. TV9 Telugu noted that there is no independent proof to confirm whether Buffett genuinely avoided water for decades, meaning these personal choices should not be taken as a standard health guide.
