Leaked details point to major hardware upgrades for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra, including a modified camera module and a brighter privacy screen. Reports from industry trackers suggest the flagship device will feature a rearranged back panel designed to work better with magnetic add-ons like wireless power banks and chargers. This adjustment aims to fix alignment issues seen on older models, though it is not yet known if built-in Qi2 magnets will be included.
Design and Specs
The physical mock-up measures 163.76 by 78.25 by 7.97 millimetres, making it slightly larger than the previous generation, and keeps the built-in stylus slot. Camera specifications are rumoured to include a main 200-megapixel sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens offering five-times optical zoom, while dropping the older three-times zoom lens. Power comes from a 5,700 mAh battery with 60-watt wired charging, paired with a 6.89-inch screen and a Qualcomm processor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Pro is tipped to feature a smaller 6.47-inch display and a 5,200 mAh battery.
Display Updates
Samsung is also developing an upgraded privacy screen for both the Pro and Ultra variants to block side viewing angles while boosting overall brightness. This enhancement addresses the challenge of keeping personal data safe in public spaces without making the screen too dim to read outdoors. Standard models in the lineup are not expected to get this privacy feature.
Context
Smartphone makers regularly test physical mock-up units based on computer-aided design files to prepare manufacturing lines for upcoming product launches. These early hardware leaks often reveal internal hardware shifts long before brands make formal public announcements. Samsung has not confirmed any of these specifications yet, and the new phone family is widely anticipated to debut early next year.
