Cyberabad Traffic Police ask IT firms to log out early amid rain forecast
Reported by Ishita Mukherjee (Staff Writer) · The Hindu - National ·
Cyberabad Traffic Police have asked IT firms and other organisations within the commissionerate to start logging out at 2 p.m. on November 3‑5, 2026, because moderate to heavy rain is forecast. The joint commissioner of police (traffic) issued the advisory on Tuesday, urging staggered logout to be completed by 4 p.m. to cut travel risk and avoid severe congestion in the afternoon and evening. The traffic notice warned that intermittent showers could turn sudden, making roads slippery and slowing emergency vehicles. It also suggested that companies let staff work from home as an alternative to commuting. Organisations are required to email their office locations and planned early‑logout times to cybtrcc@gmail.com so police can arrange traffic management. Police hope the measures will protect employee safety, keep business running and ease pressure on road infrastructure. The police emphasized that the steps aim to maintain business continuity while ensuring that emergency services can reach affected areas without delay.
Context
The advisory comes as Hyderabad’s Cyberabad region frequently experiences flooding during monsoon months, and early‑logout plans are a common way to reduce traffic load and protect commuters. Such measures help emergency services move unhindered during sudden downpours.
