New minimum wage rates are now in effect for workers across the Sambhal district, based on an October 21 order from the Uttar Pradesh government. Unskilled workers will now receive 481.93 rupees per day, semi-skilled workers will get 530.09 rupees per day, and skilled workers are set to earn 593.79 rupees daily.

Monthly Pay And Allowances

On a monthly basis, unskilled workers will receive 12,530.30 rupees, while semi-skilled workers are designated to get 13,782.30 rupees, and skilled workers will earn 15,438.42 rupees. Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramlakhan Patel stated that these updated rates factor in the base wages effective from April 1, 2026, alongside a variable dearness allowance applicable from October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. The dearness allowance is calculated every year in April and October using the consumer price index.

Payment Rules

All employers and business owners, including those using contract labor, must pay this mandatory minimum wage. The Assistant Labour Commissioner has urged employers to ensure payments match these new figures so workers get their legal rights. Meanwhile, in Fatehpur, the Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh recently submitted a memorandum to accountant Ram Gopal Pandey regarding outsourced municipal workers' pay. Union leader Dheeraj Kumar warned that the group will launch a strong protest if authorities fail to implement official pay orders, clear back pay, and provide transparent PF records.

Context

Minimum wage revisions and variable dearness allowances are routine state-level mechanisms designed to help workers cope with inflation. Government departments and labor unions frequently monitor these updates to ensure local businesses comply with statutory payment regulations.
