Supriyo Bhattacharjee, an Oil India Limited employee from Duliajan in Assam, ended his run on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 with Rs 7.5 lakh after quitting on a historical question about the Vijayanagara Empire.

The Game

Returning to the hot seat on the October 2 episode hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Supriyo faced the twelfth question worth Rs 12.5 lakh. The question asked which dynasty initially ruled the Vijayanagara Empire, established in 1336 by Harihara and Bukka, with options including Saluva, Tuluva, Sangama, and Aravidu. Unsure of the answer and choosing not to risk his earnings, Supriyo decided to quit. The correct answer was the Sangama dynasty, leaving him with a take-home prize of Rs 7.5 lakh.

Lifelines Used

Earlier in the game, Supriyo used the Audience Poll lifeline for a Rs 3 lakh question. For the next level worth Rs 5 lakh, he tried the Sanket Soochak lifeline before switching to the MahaFlip lifeline to secure a replacement question. He also cleared the Super Sandook round by answering eight out of 10 questions correctly, choosing the 50:50 lifeline over taking the money on offer. He later deployed that 50:50 lifeline to successfully clear the Rs 7.5 lakh question.

Mumbai Memories

During his chat with Bachchan, Supriyo shared a personal memory from his first trip to Mumbai in 2024. Accompanied by his mother, who wanted to meet the actor, they reached Bachchan's residence, Jalsa, at noon on a Sunday to secure a spot in the crowd before the actor's customary 5 pm appearance. Bachchan responded by recalling how the crowd management outside his home evolved from standing on the ground to using small and eventually larger platforms, admitting that he still feels nervous when his staff tells him everything is ready for him to face the heat and the fans.
