Singer Qazi Touqeer faced reprimand from host Salman Khan on the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss Season 20 following a controversial comment directed at fellow contestant Kanika Mann. During a previous episode, Kanika remarked that Qazi's outfit gave her professor vibes, which led Qazi to joke that he had become the student and ask if they could share a lollipop together. Kanika expressed offense and stated the remark made her uncomfortable, while other contestants including Mahhi and Arishfa urged Qazi to apologise, but he refused and lost his temper with friends who pointed out his error.
Salman's Verdict
Salman Khan pulled up Qazi during the latest episode, stating that even if his intentions were not cheap, he should have backed off immediately when someone expressed discomfort instead of stretching the matter like a rubber band. When Qazi claimed he had apologised during the joke, Salman noted that no apology was witnessed and stressed that genuine apologies require one to feel the mistake and back down. Salman also cleared up house perceptions regarding bias, denying any special relationship with Qazi and warning other housemates that they were being overly calculative and harming the show out of fear of his weekend feedback.
Context
Reality television shows often experience heightened tensions and interpersonal conflicts among contestants living together under constant surveillance. Weekend episodes hosted by prominent figures like Salman Khan typically serve as a platform to review the week's events, address house controversies, and provide direct feedback to participants.
