Sparsh Shrivastava and Renuka Shahane discuss roles in Dupahiya Season 2

Actors Sparsh Shrivastava and Renuka Shahane opened up about their preparation for the second season of Dupahiya, which is set in the fictional village of Dhadakpur in Bihar and streams on Amazon Prime Video.

Character Prep

In the series, Sparsh plays an aspiring actor named Bhugol Jha who makes reels dressed as a girl to get followers. The 27-year-old actor shared that his childhood training in Kathak helped him bring grace and gestures to the role. He mentioned that he learned Kathak for three years and even danced wearing frocks on local stages in Agra when he was young. Rehearsing for the part was taxing, and Sparsh admitted that wearing tight outfits like the ghagra, choli, and blouse was very tough.

Language Training

Renuka Shahane plays the village sarpanch, Pushpalata Yadav. She admitted that mastering the Bihari dialect was challenging for her as a Maharashtrian. A language expert named Ravi trained her to become familiar with the accent. The cast also features Gajraj Rao, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Yashpal Sharma, Anjuman Saxena, and Dinesh Lal Yadav, known as Nirahua.
