What Happened
Actor Aasif Khan, known for his work in Panchayat and his recent stint on Salman Khan's reality show Bigg Boss 20, has revealed that his wife, Zeba Khan, received online abuse and threats after defending him. Aasif was recently eliminated from the show due to a low vote count. Before leaving, he hosted his BB News segment for the final time and later called his journey on the show one of the most beautiful chapters of his life.
The Controversy
The controversy began when a video from the third week's elimination nomination round went viral. In the clip, contestant Love Gill is seen hugging Aasif, taking his hand, and placing it around herself when he did not fully return the embrace. Another video showed Love sitting on Aasif's legs while he lay on a bed. Fans frequently questioned their closeness inside the house.
The Defence And Trolls
After the clips went viral, Zeba Khan posted on Instagram to defend her husband and criticise trolls who questioned their marriage. She wrote that their relationship is secure and urged people not to judge someone's character or marriage based on a few seconds of footage. Aasif stated that he and his wife initially laughed at the clip together, but Zeba later showed him abusive direct messages and threats sent to her and his sister by online trolls.
