ISRO Successfully Launches NVS-03 Satellite on GSLV-F18 Rocket

Launch Success

In the early hours of October 30, the GSLV-F18 rocket lifted off from the space port in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The vehicle successfully placed the second-generation navigation satellite, NVS-03, into a geosynchronous transfer orbit.

Leadership Boost

The successful launch brings relief to the Indian Space Research Organisation and its industrial partners. For ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan, whose tenure has included both hits and misses, the mission's success arrives at an opportune time to help the agency win back pride.

Context
