Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have shared details about their relationship, moving from co-stars to life partners and how their views on love changed over time.

First Meeting

When asked if he knew instantly that Rashmika was the one, Vijay dismissed love at first sight and noted he knew nothing about her initially. Rashmika recalled that they first met on the sets of Geetha Govindam, where she addressed him as sir because he had done three or four films and was more experienced. On the first day of the shoot, Vijay bluntly shouted for her to turn off her music, calling it shitty. The incident left Rashmika with tears in her eyes as she worried working with him would be torture. As they worked on two back-to-back films, their equation changed, he told her to stop calling him sir, and they eventually became best friends before developing romantic feelings.

Views on Love

Vijay admitted that when he was twenty-eight or twenty-nine, he spoke disrespectfully about love and considered it a marketing term. It took him years of growing up and maturity to appreciate and nurture love. He realized he was ready for marriage only when he reached thirty-six. Rashmika emphasized that couples must continue making small efforts even after marriage and children, noting that people often take their partners for granted. Vijay called Rashmika the more mature one in their relationship and shared that she reminds him to express his feelings regularly.
