What Changed
The exterior features a revised front grille, rib-style LED DRL pattern, sequential turn indicators, and a new front bumper with updated LED fog lights. Side profiles feature new 16-inch alloy wheel designs and 360-degree cameras on the ORVMs. The 1.0-litre TSI engine now pairs with a new eight-speed automatic torque converter gearbox, replacing the older unit. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre TSI engine retains its seven-speed DSG and 150 horsepower, while gaining rear disc brakes for the first time. The Monte Carlo variant adds distinct cosmetic touches like red painted brake callipers, a tailgate spoiler, and blacked-out branding.
Interior and Features
Cabin updates include a new 10.25-inch TFT Digital Cockpit that replaces the smaller display, alongside an updated 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Both front seats are electrically height-adjustable and feature three fan settings for seat ventilation. Rear passengers receive dedicated AC vents, adjustable headrests, a centre armrest, and new massaging seats with preset patterns. However, the digital cockpit still lacks full-screen map support, and blindspot alert features remain absent.
Context
Mid-cycle updates like this facelift allow car manufacturers to keep their existing models fresh against newer rivals without investing in an entirely new generation. Sedan models often focus heavily on rear-seat comfort features, such as dedicated armrests and climate controls, to appeal to buyers who prefer being chauffeur-driven. The addition of automatic gearboxes and updated infotainment systems addresses common consumer demands for smoother daily commutes and better in-car technology.
