Plant Details
These new orders follow an earlier commitment made in August for 9,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs at the company's first AI factory located in Hyderabad. The new capacity of about 70 megawatts will be set up in both India and Malaysia with delivery planned for the second quarter of 2027. Chairman Anil Chalamalasetty stated that both new facilities will follow the same design standards as the Hyderabad plant, using the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform and advanced liquid cooling systems.
Investment Plans
With these latest orders, the company now has about 29,000 Rubin GPUs and nearly 100 megawatts of capacity locked in. AM Intelligence plans to add another 300 megawatts of capacity over the next 15 months, which will cost more than $20 billion. This is separate from the $6 billion already promised for the initial 100 megawatts. The firm aims to build a total pipeline of 1 gigabyte of Compute-as-a-Service capacity across global workloads, part of a larger plan for 5 gigawatts of powered AI data centres in India, the United States, and Europe.
Context
High-powered graphics processing units like the NVIDIA Rubin are essential hardware used to train and run large artificial intelligence systems. Companies are investing heavily in specialized data factories to meet the rising global demand for computing power needed by modern AI software.
