Tata Motors shares jumped over 8% in Thursday's trading session, driven by strong market momentum and a sharp rise in monthly sales. The stock opened at ₹421 per share on the NSE, compared to the previous close of ₹402, and touched an intraday high of ₹436.90.

Market Rally

The stock rally followed a sharp opening for Indian equity benchmarks, with the Sensex gaining 1,609.54 points, or 2.08%, and the Nifty 50 rising 417.45 points, or 1.74%. This positive movement was supported by easing crude oil prices and renewed buying by foreign investors. Global cues also improved following the US midterm elections, where Democrats secured control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Sales Growth

Tata Motors CV reported a 27% year-on-year increase in total commercial vehicle sales for October 2026, reaching 47,652 units compared to 37,530 units last year. Domestic commercial vehicle sales grew 13% to 39,784 units. Heavy commercial vehicle truck sales rose 12% to 12,030 units, while intermediate and light commercial vehicle truck sales increased 17% to 7,213 units. Passenger carrier sales grew 20% to 3,826 units, and small commercial vehicle cargo and pickup sales climbed 11% to 16,715 units. The international business saw a 225% surge to 7,868 units.
