UPDATE - follow-up to ECI announces Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls in four States, two UTs: The top poll body has set fresh dates for updating voter lists in Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Mizoram, Odisha, and Sikkim.

Key Dates And Goals

The draft voter lists will come out on November 30. The final updated rolls will be ready on January 21, 2027. This drive aims to sign up new voters, with a strong focus on young citizens and first-time electors. The process also allows people to submit advance applications if they turn old enough to vote on April 1, July 1, or October 1 in 2027.

Official Orders

The poll panel told the top civil servants of these states and union territories to provide enough staff and support for the task.

Context

Voter list revisions happen regularly to keep local databases accurate and to make sure new adults get a chance to vote. Advance filing options help young citizens join the rolls early instead of waiting for a yearly window to open.
