Bosch Shares Jump After Plans for Stock Split and Bonus Issue
Reported by Kavya Rao (Senior Writer) · Livemint - Markets ·
Shares of Bosch Limited climbed three percent on Thursday to close at 52,450 rupees on the BSE, continuing a strong run over the past two sessions. The rise in the auto ancillary stock follows an announcement that the company's board will discuss a stock split and a bonus issue. The board meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 6, where directors will review breaking down existing shares with a face value of 10 rupees each.
Market Gains
The company stock has posted strong returns across multiple timelines recently. Shares gained 10.19 percent in one week, 18.28 percent in two weeks, and 17.21 percent over the past month. Looking further back, the stock delivered 22.32 percent in three months, 38.55 percent in one year, and 47.24 percent over two years. The total market capitalisation of the firm stands at 1,54,707.04 crore rupees following Thursday's trading session.
Past Payouts
These upcoming corporate actions follow a heavy dividend payout earlier this year. The board previously announced a dividend of 270 rupees per equity share, with August 4 set as the record date. Prior to that, the firm rewarded investors with a dividend of 512 rupees per share in 2025, alongside 170 rupees and 205 rupees per share in 2024.
Context
A stock split increases the number of shares while lowering the individual price, which can help make a high-value stock easier for smaller investors to buy. Bonus shares are additional shares given to existing holders at no extra cost, reflecting accumulated company profits. Both actions are common ways for financially stable companies to improve trading activity in the market.
