Reported by Rohit Yadav (Staff Writer) · The Hindu - National ·
Bharatiya Janata Party national vice-president Ram Madhav stated on Thursday that his party is the main alternative to the Congress government in Telangana. Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad on November 5, 2026, alongside state BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, Mr. Madhav accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of ignoring governance to focus on trips to Delhi. He claimed the ruling party failed on many fronts and promised that the BJP will step up its protests against corruption and policy failures to win power in the state by 2028.

Voter List Revision
Mr. Madhav also defended the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision of voter lists, calling it a routine process done since Independence to remove duplicate, dead, or ineligible voters. He blamed Congress for spreading false news and trying to protect illegal immigrants, pointing out that former Union Home Minister Indrajit Gupta once mentioned 1.2 crore illegal immigrants in Parliament. He rejected the demand to bring back paper ballots, noting that Congress lost even when paper ballots were used, and called the Bharat Rashtra Samithi party an iron leg while noting that other leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy have lost power.
