Officials of the South Coast Railway Vijayawada division held a Digital Life Certificate camp at the railway auditorium on Thursday. The event aimed to help pensioners and family pensioners submit their certificates and use pension services without trouble, according to Public Relations Officer Nusrat M. Mandrupkar. Officers issued Digital Life Certificates to 156 pensioners and family pensioners while also clearing up their doubts about the submission process. Divisional Personnel Officer Viswanath Sopan, Assistant Divisional Finance Manager K. Sunitha, Senior Divisional Medical Officer Dr. S. Durga Prasad, and Divisional Medical Officer Dr. K.V.N. Jyothi attended the camp. Alongside the certificate work, the medical department ran a health checkup where doctors carried out blood sugar, blood pressure, ECG, and other tests for the attendees. A similar certificate camp was also held earlier in Rajahmundry on Wednesday.
Context
Digital Life Certificates allow retired employees to prove they are alive online each year without needing to visit a bank branch in person. Pension departments across the country regularly conduct such special camps to make life easier for elderly citizens who might find digital paperwork difficult to manage on their own.
