BJP MLA Dr Sankar Kumar Guchhait stated that his party's candidate will win the Nandigram bypoll by a margin of more than one lakh votes. He also predicted a victory for the BJP in the Rejinagar seat by more than around 10,000 votes. Guchhait claimed that voters in West Bengal will reject any party that lacks an election symbol and an existence. He added that the poll outcome will reflect public support for development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the work done by his new government over the last five months. He specifically credited the Annapurna scheme, housing programs, wage increases across sectors by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and the overall mindset of the public toward the BJP for what he called a sure two-nil result.
