Uttarakhand’s education board has teamed up with the Kotak Education Foundation to launch a state‑wide AI training programme for teachers. The collaboration will create learning materials, design online courses, provide technical help and roll out the courses across the state. The modules will be hosted on digital platforms such as DIKSHA, UK e‑Srijan and Mission Karmayogi. By weaving artificial‑intelligence tools and modern digital teaching methods into future curricula, the effort aims to boost classroom interaction, improve technology use in lessons and raise both teacher skills and student results. Bandana Garbyal, director of academics at SCERT Uttarakhand, said the tie‑up will bring AI‑driven, high‑quality learning to educators even in the most remote districts and will support the Innovate Uttarakhand Hackathon 3.0, marking the start of a partnership focused on stronger teaching, student innovation and future‑ready classrooms. The AI Course for Educators is a three‑tier professional development programme covering basic, intermediate and advanced levels. It blends video lessons, reading material and quizzes, while a SCERT dashboard tracks progress and impact, helping teachers feel confident using AI for academic and administrative tasks. ## Context The initiative reflects a growing push in Indian states to equip teachers with digital skills, recognising that AI literacy can enhance learning outcomes and prepare students for a technology‑driven future.
